Indonesian arrested for robbery

kUALA TERENGGANU -- Six men, five of them Indonesian nationals, were arrested three hours after robbing a family in Felda Cerul Dua Scheme, Kemaman, yesterday.
The men aged between 30 and 48 were hauled up by the Felda Cerul Dua Neighbourhood Watch's Voluntary Patrol Scheme (SRS) members who trailed and caught them at the border of Terengganu and Pahang at 6.40am.  
 "The six, who included a local security guard, were then brought to theChukai police station," said Terengganu CID chief ACP K Manoharan. 
 He said armed with machetes and iron rods, four of them broke into asettler's house by forcing opened a window of the house while two accomplices waited in a getaway car.  
 "After gaining entry into the house, the four forced a couple to hand overmoney and jewellery by holding a machete to their nine-year-old daughter's neck and threatened to harm their 105-year-old grandmother.    The suspects also tied up the couple with cable wire.  
 The police recovered the jewellery, a laptop and mobile phones allegedlyrobbed from the couple's house and confiscated machetes and iron rods from the suspects. - Bernama
