Rakyat have demonstrated at the polling station – PBB Youth info chief tells MoCS chief
KUCHING: The people in the state have shown clearly during the state election last month that they wanted Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and other top leaders of the BN component parties to continue leading the state.
In view of this, PBB Youth information chief Abdul Aziz Adenan said, the Movement of Change, Sarawak (MoCS) leader Francis Siah should not insult the voters by calling on them to hold demonstrations if Taib did not step down by August 13.
“In our democracy, the rakyat have shown at the polling stations last month to give the mandate to the Chief Minister and other top leaders of the BN component parties to continue leading the state,” he said.
Aziz also thanked parliament Deputy Speaker Datuk Wan Junaidi Wan Jaafar for giving a good lesson on democracy to Francis Siah through his statement in a local newspaper last Wednesday.
Touching on Siah’s statement in urging the party Youth Kuching zone to “adopt a new political culture in not following party leaders or masters, blindly,” Aziz said members of PBB Youth wing believe in working with top leaders in the party and are always loyal to them.
He said this loyalty should not be regarded as blindly following the top leadership and in this case, the party Youth members respect the wishes of the ppeople’s choice in giving their mandate to the Barisan Nasional (BN) government to govern the state.
“I ask Francis Siah not to turn a blind eye to the wishes of the majority of the rakyat who wished Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and BN component leaders to continue administrating the state.
“The Youth wing is not only loyal to the top leaders in the party but also loyal to the wishes of the rakyat,” he said when contacted yesterday.
The Youth information chief added that PKR had made the right decision to distance itself from the NGO as stated by the party state liaison chief Baru Bian.
