MUKAH: Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud last Friday attended a prayer at Masjid Setia Raja Mukah with his wife Puan Sri Ragad Kurdi Taib on the eve of his 75th birthday.
The session began with Maghrib prayer followed by surah yassin and tahlil recital before the congregation performed Isyak prayer.
The couple was accompanied by Minister of Housing and Urban Development Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and wife Datin Amar Juma’ani, Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office Datin Fatimah Abdullah, Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Ja’afar, Mukah member of parliament Dato Sri Dr Muhammed Leo Michael Toyad, Assistant Minister of Tourism Datuk Talip Zulpili, Assistant Minister of Public Utilities Sylvester Entri Muran and Assistant Minister of Housing and Urban Development Abdul Wahab Aziz.
Also present were assemblymen Dr Murni Suhaili (Daro), Abu Seman Jahwie (Jemoreng), Abdullah Saidol (Semop), Mukah Resident Saudi Narani, district officer Mohamad Nawawi, chairman of Mukah Dalat District Council (MDDM) Walikota Ali Suhaili, heads of government departments, community leaders, Taib’s family members and local Muslims.
Taib and Ragad were scheduled to attend Taib’s 75th birthday celebration at Dewan Suarah Mesra Mukah yesterday evening.
